It is with great joy that we are able to announce that Fr Robin Gibbons, our Melkite Catholic partner in the Benefice, has been made an Ecumenical Canon in the Diocese of Oxford.
The Diocese announces on its webiste:
TWELVE new Canons will be commissioned at Oxford’s Christ Church Cathedral next month. Canons are selected because of their work within the Diocese of Oxford and the wider church. Eight Anglican priests will become Honorary Canons while our others will be made Lay/Ecumenical Canons, in an Evensong service at Christ Church on Saturday 23 January at 6pm.

Fr Robin Gibbons is an Eastern Rite Catholic Priest ,one of the Chaplains for the Melkite Greek-Catholic Church (Arab Catholics). For many years he has been ecumenical partner in the Benefice of Steeple Aston, North Aston and Tackley He works in Oxford University and is a member of the UK Middle East Church leaders group.
We look forward to supporting Robin together at Christ Church Cathedral on January 23rd, and to his continued and much-loved ministry in our midst.
