Rector announces departure

Our Rector, Revd Marcus Green, has announced to the Benefice that he will be leaving in June to become Chaplain at Worcester College in Oxford.

Marcus has been our Rector for the past nine years, joining us from Leeds. Previously he was vicar of St Catherine's Pontypridd. His informal, creative online services kept us worshipping together throughout the pandemic, and his regular (at times three times a week!) email newsletters that lasted for eighteen months during the lockdown periods brought us news, information, entertainment and kept us smiling through. He will be missed both for his sermons and for his caring touch with our whole community.

David Isaac, the Provost of Worcester, says: ‘ We are delighted that Marcus is joining Worcester as our new Chaplain. He brings a wealth of experience to College from his previous roles and his commitment to work with the whole Worcester community is especially welcome as we emerge from the pandemic and as Oxford continues its work to be more representative of society as a whole.’
