The Way of New Life - Holy Week & Easter 2017

Canon Bruce Gillingham joined us in the Benefice for Holy Week 2017. He spoke at all our gatherings, drawing us on a journey toward the Cross and through it to Easter Sunday.

It was a remarkable week. Each parish held two events, a Compline in the early part of the week, and then we had Maundy Thursday Communion in Tackley, the Good Friday Meditation in Steeple Aston, and our Easter Vigil in North Aston. Bruce's humour and insight drew us close to Jesus in heart and mind, and everyone who came found it a very special experience.

On Easter Sunday, Tackley & North Aston held early services with warm and good-sized congregations, the Rector leading at Tackley, and Bruce returning to North Aston. Steeple Aston had the later service and was filled with worshippers of all ages for the occasion.

Holy Week and Easter 2017 has been a very special time in the Benefice - a time of listening to Jesus, and opening our hearts to him. May the blessings of his death and resurrection, his love poured out for us, his new life freely offered, remain with us now and always.
